The young gun doing his thing…
christopherfenimore:

Ian Velardi.
I never write more than a person’s name on this blog but this photo calls for me to discuss something about myself. Whether you’ve stumbled on this site through my work for Four-Pins or through the men’s wear tag on Tumblr, you’ll notice my work here is different from my work on Four-Pins and that is because I don’t see myself as a street style photographer. Though I enjoy experimenting, it’s not my shtick and I don’t feel comfortable shooting any of it. Yesterday Lawrence said to me, who I might add is one of the only people who continues to help and inspire me in this scene, “You know you don’t have to just shoot portraits” and in that moment, I realized that’s all I want to shoot. I want to transport you to the moment I took the photo and to feel the inspiration I felt in shooting it to begin with. This blog evolves every day and the more I learn and grow as a photographer, the closer I hope I can bring you to understanding why I shot a particular photo at all. This may read like I’m not going to shoot any more street style but I assure you I will, I just want it to echo the aesthetic of the photos I post here and I’m not at that point yet. Thanks for following.
